The Must Have For The Morning After

Rebecca Minkoff's Morning After Bag is making me want to snatch up my mother's Bloomingdale's card and add a mysterious $595 charge. I have recently been exploring the designer's website after reading a tweet on twitter from Gossip Girl referencing Minkoff. The MAB was immediately my favorite, and after some research I found out it is the most sought after and coveted bag in Minkoff's recent collection. I love the bag in black or dark brown and after seeing it on Lindsay Lohan's arm in numerous photographs, I am increasingly envious of it in black with basket weaving. The photographs are old and it shows a slightly more put together version of LiLo, juxtaposing her recent "homeless chic" look. All the same, that bag just made my dream list. A list that I began keeping sometime at the end of May when I started working at The Couture Exchange. While everyone else posts about the new additions to there closet, I just added a 15th item to my wish list. I try to only blog about the exceedingly special bags on the list, because otherwise it's just too heartbreaking for me. However, if this bag should ever wander through TCE's doors it will be coming home with me, no questions asked.

Jon Gosselin Needs a Reality Check STAT

I normally wouldn't comment on the tragic saga that has become the fate of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8, but since I was a fan of the show long before their marriage went south I feel the need to respond to THIS PHOTO. While reading Us Weekly online today, I stumbled across this picture of Jon Gosselin and his new 22-year-old girlfriend. Her name is Hailey Glassman and she is the daughter of the doctor who performed Kate Gosselin's tummy-tuck a few years back on the show.

The new couple (ick) were spotted traveling in St. Tropez in the French Riviera yesterday. They were seen holding hands and had just went for a ride on the yacht of fashion designer Ed Hardy. There are so many things wrong with this picture that I'm going to break it down:

1. Why is Jon Gosselin dating someone when he and Kate only filed for divorce less than a month ago? He's a pretty quick rebounder if he really hadn't been previously cheating on his wife as he claimed.

2. Hailey Glassman is like 5 months older than me. I don't know anyone my age who in their right mind would date a 32-year-old man who has a divorce PENDING with the mother of his EIGHT children. What is wrong with this woman?

3. Jon Gosselin needs to stop wearing so much goddamn Ed Hardy. Seriously, I don't even like that look on people 10 years younger than him. He's literally screaming quarter-life crisis every time he steps out of his house in those outfits.

4. Who is fronting the money for this French Riviera vacation? Is it the little twins Mady and Cara? Or did the sextuplets fund this romantic getaway? Or was it Kate's hard earned book sales?

Long story short, I think Jon Gosselin is an awfully weak person. All the talk about Kate's verbal abuse and bossiness over the years is completely ridiculous. He knew the woman he was marrying, and he if were a real man he would have dealt with the life he made for himself with his eight kids and wife. When I see him now on t.v. with his thinning hair plugs and new diamond stud earrings, its almost too much to mock at once. Okay, venting session is over.

College Chic Meets Jersey Roots!!!

So not only am I technically CollegeChic, I'm more specifically Jersey Girl college chic! Being born and raised in the Garden State and being a student at Rutgers, NJ's State University, has it's pros and cons. As of late the press from Bravo's Real Housewives of New Jersey has given us a bad representation. After the normally sweet and carefree Teresa Giudice had a table flippin' meltdown the Jersey image became slightly tarnished. Personally, I think almost all aspects of the show are hilarious and entertaining, however people should know that not all Jersey girls are all about big hair, fake nails, and fake "boobies."
Some of the most chic celebrities make a good name for New Jersey, like the always adorable Anne Hathaway from Millburn, NJ. The Devil Wears Prada is playing in the Westfield store right now and it just shows off how glammed up and stylish Hathaway can be. The actress with Jersey roots looked gorgeous in a red and black Diane von Furstenberg sheath dress and Brian Atwood heels during a film premiere.
